Cops Question 8 in Death of Brooklyn Delivery Man

Police are questioning eight people in the killing of a bread delivery man who was shot to death as he drove his route in Brooklyn.

Jorge Martinez was fatally wounded by a gunshot to the head as he drove his van along Avenue X.

Police said Tuesday that ballistics evidence indicates 22 shots were fired by three different 9-millimeter guns. They recovered 22 shell casings from a rooftop of a nearby building and from scaffolding.

The eight people being questioned in Friday's fatal shooting were from the same building. They were arrested on unrelated warrants.

The 39-year-old Martinez' van was struck by two bullets. One hit Martinez, who lost control of the van and crashed. He died en route to the hospital.

Police say they don't think he had been targeted.
