The FDNY is responding to a partial building collapse of a residential building near 14th Street.

A four-story multiple-unit residence at 92 8th Avenue between 14th and 15th streets collapsed this evening and firefighters are on the scene, according to the FDNY and witnesses.

Susan Milyavsky was standing on the balcony of a friend's apartment just across the street from the building when its front collapsed.

"It was like it just melted off," Milyavsky said. "It crumbled down."

Milyavsky said she did not believe anyone was inside the building at the time of the collapse.

There are no reports of injuries. Pieces of medal from the building's collapsed facade were flying through the street Monday evening.
