Suspect Punched, Pushed Police Officer Down Stairs in Brooklyn: NYPD

Police are looking for the man who punched an officer in the face before pushing him down stairs at a subway station in Brooklyn Friday.

The officer was trying to arrest the man for trying to steal a pair of sneakers at Hoyt and Fulton streets in downtown Brooklyn about 11:15 a.m. when he was attacked, the NYPD says.

The officer hurt his head, back, hands and right arm and was taken to the hospital for treatment. He was later released.

The suspect left the scene after pushing the officer down the stairs.
