Armed Robbers Steal $60K from Manhattan Whole Foods: NYPD

A pair of armed robbers held up employees at a Whole Foods in Manhattan Sunday night and made off with more than $60,000 cash, the NYPD says.

Employees at the Whole Foods on East Houston Street were robbed while using the store's elevator to take the cash to the store's second floor at about 10 p.m., police say.

When the elevator's doors opened, one of the robbers pointed a gun at the workers and told them to get to the ground.

A second suspect grabbed one of the employees and bound his hands behind his back. Then, police say, they took the cash and left the store, fleeing onto Chrystie Street.
