Another Woman Attacked, Robbed in Queens Neighborhood: NYPD

What to Know

  • The man hits women over the head and then steals their purse
  • One woman was hit so hard that she was knocked unconscious
  • Police released a sketch and surveillance video of the suspect in the hopes of catching him

Another older woman has been robbed in the Forest Hills section of Queens, but the attacker doesn't appear to be the suspect being sought in three other violent robberies in the area, police say.

Someone in a hoodie walked up to a 70-year-old woman waiting at a bus stop by 67th Road and Yellowstone Boulevard after 6 p.m. on Wednesday, and grabbed her from behind, police say.

The woman fell to the ground, and the suspect ran off with her purse, which contained an iPhone 6, black dancing shoes, credits cards, keys and an ID.

The victim had pain to her right arm and ribs, but declined medical attention, police said.

The suspect is described as about 25 years old and 5-foot-5. The gender wasn't clear.

Police are investigating three other violent robberies targeting women in Forest Hills and Kew Gardens since January, but say the suspect in those cases is a tall man. A recent mugging was also reported in Little Neck, Queens, where a woman was robbed of $15.
