Six firefighters and a civilian suffered minor injuries in a three-alarm apartment fire in Hamilton Heights Saturday morning.

The fire started on the second-floor of a building at 146th Street and Amsterdam Avenue, then spread to a neighboring building before firefighters could put it out.

A fire department spokesman says most of the people who were injured suffered smoke inhalation.

The cause of the fire is under investigation, but authorities told News 4 New York they did not consider it suspicious.
