Two members of the New Jersey State Police bomb squad were injured Tuesday while trying to defuse an explosive device in Middletown.

The troopers drove themselves to Riverview Hospital, where they were treated and released.

And a source tells NBC New York  the homeowner was injured as well when another device exploded earlier, which first brought police and the bomb squad to his house.

There is no indication that this had anything to do with terrorists.

While the homeowner's injuries were described as serious, the two members of the bomb squad suffered only minor injuries and were treated and released from a local hospital.
