13 Charged in New York City Heroin Distribution Ring: Attorney General

Attorney General Eric Schneiderman says 13 men and women have been charged with distributing heroin from New York City into the Hudson Valley, Long Island and Pennsylvania.

Agents from the attorney general's office and state police launched an investigation in June 2014 that included covert surveillance and wiretaps.

State Police Superintendent Joseph D'Amico says the people are accused of carrying heroin on commuter trains and buses from Harlem and the Bronx to Nassau, Orange and Sullivan counties in New York and the Pittsburgh area in Pennsylvania.

This is the third major take down of a narcotics distribution network by the attorney general's office in the last three weeks, totaling more than 60 arrests.
