There’s life after “American Idol” for Kara DioGuardi too.

DioGuardi has landed a gig as the head judge of a new Bravo reality competition for songwriters, nearly two months after the music industry vet was axed from “Idol.”

“Going Platinum” features 12 musicians and lyricists dueling for a $100,000 grand prize as well as music-publishing and recording deals, People mag reported. Musician Jewel will host the show, which also boasts celebrity guest appearances and premieres in 2011.

"Hit songs are the backbone of the music industry, and as a publisher, nothing excites me more than finding new songwriting talent," DioGuardi said in a statement. “I am happy to be a part of a show that helps up and coming songwriters pursue their dreams, while giving the public a look into the creative process.”

In announcing her “Idol” exit in September, DioGuardi said she’d felt like she’d “won the lottery” but that it was the “best time” to leave after just two seasons as a judge.

DioGuardi thanked Fox for the opportunity, though her father had publicly complained about the way execs had kept her in the dark over their decision.

She follows veteran “Idol” judges Paula Abdul and Simon Cowell back to television.

Abdul is set to judge the upcoming “Live to Dance” on CBS, while Cowell has been working on bringing the U.K talent competition “The X Factor” stateside for Fox.
