Lighty, 44, was found dead in his Bronx apartment Thursday, and police indicated that there were no signs of foul play.

The music honcho, who had managed stars like Mariah Carey, Missy Elliot and 50 Cent among his achievements, lamented the current state of hip-hop in his final blog post dated Aug. 23, in which he ranted about the "rat race we call hip-hop" and "the rumors and ridiculous stories" about his clients.

Immediately after word of his death broke, stars expressed a massive outpouring of grief, with Russell Simmons praising Lighty as "a hip-hop hero."
