"The Dark Knight Rises" star Tom Hardy has a fan in the White House.

Social media erupted Friday following President Donald Trump's inaugural speech following one particular quote during his 16-minute address.

“Today, we are not merely transferring power from one administration to another or from one party to another, but we are transferring power from Washington, D.C. and giving it back to you, the people,” Trump said.

While not a word for word poach, several inauguration viewers thought that portion of the speech sounded oddly familiar. The quote is reminiscent of a scene in "The Dark Knight Rises," after super villain Bane has apparently vanquished Batman, overrun the city government and police, and stands in front of the hoards of Gotham.

“We take Gotham from the corrupt! The rich! The oppressors of generations who have kept you down with myths of opportunity, and we give it back to you, the people,” Bane says.

The similarities between the two quotes did not go unnoticed.
