Judge Orders Dennis Hopper to Pay Child Support

Hopper is terminally ill and unable to undergo chemotherapy

Actor Dennis Hopper, who is battling cancer, was ordered today to pay his estranged wife and daughter $12,000 in monthly spousal and child support costs.

Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Amy Pellman issued the order during a hearing in the 73-year-old actor's divorce from his wife, Victoria. Pellman also ruled that Victoria Hopper can continue living on the actor's property.

Hopper was not present in court, but his wife and adult children attended. The frail actor's attorney said previously that Hopper was terminally ill.

Hopper made a rare public appearance last month when he received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Pellman said both sides should work together to ease the impact on the expected death of the "Easy Rider" star on the couple's 7-year-old daughter..

Hopper filed for divorce in January. The couple have been married for about 14 years.
