Maison Martin Margiela via Deconstructed Garments
Those longing wistfully for the bygone days of Maison Martin Margiela (Margiela himself having now left the company) will get a taste of the designer's inventive, hand-crafted vintage pieces when they go on sale next Monday.
According to Fashion Week Daily, Yoox.com will put about 100 one-of-a-kind Margiela pieces up for sale from the designer's "Artisanal" collection -- pieces that used to be available only at Margiela boutiques (read: you'd never find one). Come November 30, expect to find incredible items for sale from a wedding dress composed of three vintage dresses, a jacket made of woven strips of elastic, and also the famous "disco ball top" (pictured). The prices on said pieces will likely be exorbitant, but at least it's all going to charity -- proceeds will benefit the Rosa Spier House, an organization dedicated to providing housing for retired artists and academics.
