Visionaire's newest issue, entitled Visionaire 58 Spirit, A Tribute to Lee Alexander McQueen is available pre-order.
While the $295 price tag might seem shocking at first glance, we actually think it's pretty reasonable for a copy of the limited-edition boxed set, featuring pictures and artwork by the likes of Steven Klein, Mario Testino, Lady Gaga and Nick Knight, as well photographs showcasing the late designer's inspired and most iconic creations.
The box itself is wrapped in metal brocade from McQueen's spring/summer 2010 show, and the pages are embedded with wildflowers that, if planted, will actually bloom into real flowers. Though we doubt anyone would want to bury something so beautiful, it's a beautiful nod to the visionary designer's tragic death.
Considering Visionaire's avant-garde, multi-format approach to each individual issue, McQueen, who actually tried to collaborate with the magazine on an issue in 2003 (which didn't materialize into anything at the time), would be pleased with the result. And while the issue is actually running behind schedule—it was supposed to ship in June—we suppose you can't rush genius.
