After a slew of date changes and then a sudden, unexpected arrival in just a few stores citywide, our intrepid reporter arrived at Gaps' 55th Street and Fifth Avenue outpost to find the last two pairs in the entire store -- a 40 and a 41.
According to a salesperson, the store had only received 10 pairs of the shoes before the onslaught began. Memo to anyone who spots an errant pair in a store: Buy it now, ask questions later. These boots, as one might have predicted, are few and far between.
