Want This, Weekend Edition: Shop the Souk

…at BAM's open-air marketplace, plus Housing Works' $1 sale, the Renegade Craft Fair, and more

MARKET SHARE: Brooklyn Academy of Music brings more than 150 vendors of housewares, crafts, clothes, you name it (plus live music and food) to the cultural smorgasbord that is the Souk Marketplace, part of BAM's Muslim Voices: Arts & Ideas series. Saturday and Sunday, schedule varies.

WORKS OVERTIME: The annual Housing Works $1 sale for charity is here: stock up on music, cds and books for four quarters at its Crosby Street fair on Saturday. Plus: There'll be beer and ice cream to restore your shopping mettle.

CRAFTASTIC: Need pickles, organic teddy bears, hand-carved furniture, maybe some letterpress? Buy direct from more than 300 indie crafters and artisans at the annual Brooklyn Renegade Craft Fair at Williamsburg's McCarren Park, which is so much cooler than most craft fairs that the moniker's sort of misleading. (The 'renegade' part is more apt.) Saturday and Sunday, 11AM-7PM.

TWO-TONE: We love the casually masculine appeal of these ladies' tooled Melissa black-and-white oxfords, a collab with bad-boy designer Alexandre Herchcovitch. Even better: You can hardly tell they're made of recycled plastic. Stocked at the L.E.S.' Suite Orchard boutique and online.

INDIEHIVE: At the Tribeca Retail Club Designer Soiree, shop for apparel and accessories from design talent on the rise like Suarette, Arbitrage and Love Brigade. Chacala, 394 Broadway at Walker, 4th Floor; (212) 244-4464. Saturday and Sunday, 11AM-8PM.
