Parts of Tri-State Could See Wintry Weather, More Snow

Parts of the tri-state could be hit with sleet and snow Tuesday, Storm Team 4 says.

Sullivan, Ulster, Dutchess Putnam and Orange counties in New York and Morris, Warren, Sussex and Pike counties in New Jersey are under a winter weather advisory as a blustery wet weather system moves through the region Tuesday afternoon.

Storm Team 4 says that those areas could see light snow and sleet for part of the afternoon before warming temperatures cause the precipitation to transition to rain. Travel conditions could get a little slippery at high elevations because of the wintry mix.

Most of the rest of the region, including New York City, should see light to moderate rain Tuesday afternoon and evening.

Wednesday will start off dreary and gray, but the skies are forecast to clear in the afternoon. There is a chance of a sprinkle in the afternoon, but the weather should be mostly clear for the Rockefeller Center tree lighting ceremonies that evening.
