The Empire State Building was illuminated Monday evening in colors to celebrate anchor Chuck Scarborough's 50th anniversary with WNBC-TV / NBC New York.
The landmark building lit up in NBC peacock blue and gold for his golden anniversary.
"This is such an extraordinary honor," Scarborough said.
Chuck joined WNBC-TV in March 1974 as a lead anchor for what was, at the time, the new 5:00 p.m. NewsCenter 4 broadcast.

Earlier in the day, Chuck participated with his family in a ceremonial lighting of the building.
"I can't thank the Empire State Building, Dan [Rogoski] and everybody enough, for this singular honor," said Scarborough. "This has just been wonderful, and what a great way to kick off my celebration of 50 years cause it was a Monday on March 25th, exactly 50 years ago, that I walked through the doors of NBC and began this career that has brought me to this point."
