Rangers snatch LW Bell off waivers

New York, NY (Sports Network) - The New York Rangers claimed left winger Mark Bell off re-entry waivers from the Toronto Maple Leafs on Wednesday.

The 28-year-old Bell registered 12 goals and 15 assists in 56 games this season with the Toronto Marlies of the American Hockey League.

The 6-foot-2, 220-pounder had four goals and six assists in 35 games for the Maple Leafs in 2007-08. A broken orbital bone caused Bell to miss 31 games last season.

Originally taken eighth overall by Chicago in the 1998 draft, Bell has 87 goals and 95 assists in 445 career games with the Blackhawks, Sharks and Maple Leafs.
