NBA Game Summary – New Jersey at Atlanta

Atlanta, GA (Sports Network) - Marvin Williams recorded his fourth double- double of the season with 16 points and 11 rebounds, and the Atlanta Hawks made short work of the struggling New Jersey Nets, 105-88, at Philips Arena to avoid a season sweep.

Joe Johnson, who was selected as an All-Star reserve on Thursday, added 29 points and now sits one point shy of 10,000 for his career. Flip Murray contributed 23 points and Mike Bibby 20 for the Hawks, who saw their three- game slide become history.

Devin Harris, who was also chosen as an All-Star reserve on Thursday, dropped 20 points, doled out six assists and grabbed five boards for the Nets, who have let three games in a row slip away and eight of nine overall.

Vince Carter donated 18 points on a woeful 6-of-18 shooting performance while Brook Lopez had 15 points in the setback.

The Nets were on top 28-25 after the first quarter but the Hawks grabbed a 55-53 lead at the intermission.

The teams traded baskets and the lead see-sawed for most of the third stanza, before Johnson's three-pointer sparked an 11-3 run Atlanta used to close the third quarter.

Zaza Pachulia hit a pair of free throws to close the surge and send the home team into the final frame sporting an 80-71 lead.

Lopez' three-point play brought the Nets within 89-82 midway through the fourth, but the Hawks outscored their guests 16-6 the rest of the way en route to the victory.
