Jets Linebacker Calvin Pace Breaks Foot, Out 6 Weeks: Report

Injury deals another blow to defense coping with absence of all-pro corner Revis

New York Jets linebacker Calvin Pace broke his right foot in Friday night's preseason game against the Washington Redskins and is expected to miss six weeks, according to a published report.

The injury to Gang Green's star linebacker, who led the team with eight sacks last season, deals another blow to a defense already struggling to plug holes amid all-star cornerback Darrelle Revis' month-long holdout.

Former Miami linebacker Jason Taylor, whom the Jets picked up in the offseason, will fill in for Pace. The Jets may also reach out to Adalius Thomas, a free agent who starred in Rex Ryan's Baltimore defense, reports the Daily News.

It wasn't immediately clear how Pace broke his foot, but he left in the third quarter of the Jets' 16-11 loss. In addition to his eight sacks last year, Pace recorded 55 tackles and three forced fumbles.
