Shia LaBeouf Caught In California Bar Scuffle: Police

The "Transformers" star was handcuffed, questioned, and soon released.

Shia LaBeouf had a brush in with the law this weekend.

Sources confirmed that the "Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps" actor was handcuffed and soon released after a California bar scuffle in Sherman Oaks, Calif., allegedly got physical early Saturday morning, Us Magazine reported.

"It was just boys being boys. Things got really out of hand and it didn't have to go down the way it did," Mad Bull's Tavern owner Richard DiSisto told the magazine. "No one needed or should have gotten hurt, things could have been  dealt with in an entirely different way."

Eyewitnesses told the magazine that the 24-year-old "Transformers" star was harassed by a bar goer in the tavern and then "sucker punched" in the mouth when things were taken outside. Another eyewitness told that LaBeouf was "hanging at the bar, then we just saw him charging for some guy."

LAPD officers said they were driving by Mad Bull's Tavern  when they noticed a rowdy crowd. The movie star was reportedly handcuffed while they assessed the situation and questioned the actor. He was released at around 1 a.m and no charges were filed.

Sgt. Taylor of the Van Nuys district in Los Angeles  told Us Magazine that patrons picking on LaBeouf "fled" before police arrived on scene and things dispersed as soon as they got there.
