Accused Yankees Ticket Scalper Assaults Cop: NYPD

Police are searching for a man they describe as a known ticket scalper after he allegedly assaulted a cop at Yankee Stadium last week.

The suspect, 26-year-old Jacob Fashakin, was caught by police selling tickets to the Yankees game in front of the stadium at about 1 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 24, one day before Derek Jeter's last home game, police say.

When an officer approached him and tried to take him into custody, Fashakin resisted, according to police. Another officer ran to help and grabbed Fashakin's arm, and Fashakin twisted his arm to get out of the officer's grip, causing the officer's own arm to twist.

That officer was bruised on the arm and chest, police said.

The suspect is about 6 feet tall and weighs 190 pounds. Anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 800-577-TIPS.
