Xanadu Opening Could be Delayed Again

The opening of the huge Xanadu shopping and entertainment complex in the Meadowlands could be pushed back again.

New Jersey Sports and Exposition Authority Chairman Carl Goldberg says 70 percent of the space in the complex has been leased. But he says it's not clear if that's enough to have a splashy opening as scheduled in August.

He says it could be difficult to get many more tenants in such a slow economy.

He says a decision on the opening date will be made within a month.

Xanadu was originally scheduled to open in November 2008.

The complex is to feature an indoor snow dome, movie complex, concert space and an upscale martini lounge and bowling alley.
