A woman was pistol-whipped in what appeared to be an attempted robbery Thursday afternoon in Brooklyn, police said.
The victim, whose name wasn't disclosed by police, was taken to Brookdale University Hospital and Medical Center. Information about her injuries wasn't available.
Neighbors said the woman might have been targeted because she operates a jewelry business out of her home.
The incident happened at about 1:25 p.m. at the intersection of Dumont and Montauk avenues in the East New York neighborhood, police said.
No arrest has been made.
