A woman was found stabbed to death in a bathtub of her boyfriend's Brooklyn apartment, police say.
Police charged 36-year-old Brian Sohtz with murder.
Sohtz yelled that he was sorry as police led him out of the station in handcuffs. According to the Daily News, Sohtz wailed, "I'm sorry. I loved Daniella. I'm sorry to her family. I'm sorry for my children."
The NYPD says Sohtz was arrested in Suffolk County. They say he was headed there when he called a relative who in turn called police.
The 34-year-old victim, Daniella Mannino, was found at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday.
The New York Times says she was the daughter of Joseph Mannino, who worked in the office services department of the Brooklyn district attorney's office.
A male relative of Mannino told the Daily News that Mannino had a 13-year-old daughter. Another relative told the Daily News that Sohtz has four children of his own.
Records show that Sohtz has a prior arrest for menacing and criminal possession of a weapon, reported the Daily News.
A spokesman told the paper that District Attorney Charles Hynes would seek a special prosecutor in the case.
It was not immediately known if Sohtz had a lawyer.
