Upstate NY Man Threatened to Kill Obama, Presidential Candidates

A 21-year-old western New York man has been charged with threatening to kill President Barack Obama and three presidential candidates running in the 2016 election.

Federal prosecutors say Joseph Goode of Cheektowaga was charged Friday after threatening to get a high- powered rifle and "kill all the presidential candidates."

Authorities say Goode's list included Obama, former President Bill Clinton, Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton and Republican candidates Donald Trump and Ted Cruz.

Goode allegedly made the threats to personnel at a Buffalo hospital and claimed he had a sniper rifle and a plan to "see the world burn."

Hillary Clinton had campaign stops Friday in Buffalo and Rochester. John Kasich and Trump have events in Rochester this weekend.

Bernie Sanders will speak in Buffalo on Monday, and Cruz is expected back in upstate New York next week.
