Train With 50 People Aboard Strikes Woman: NJ Transit

A New Jersey Transit train struck and killed a woman who walked onto the tracks on Saturday afternoon, officials said. 

The woman was struck near Dunellen Station at about 3:45 p.m., New Jersey Transit said. 

The train had 50 passengers and crew aboard, none were hurt. 

The Raritan Valley Line was suspended in both directions between Bound Brook and Plainfield during the investigation.
