UPDATE: The Jesus statue swiped from the church was dumped in the trash, officials say
Thieves have made off with a statue of Jesus from a Brooklyn church -- for the second time.
The Sacred Heart of Jesus statue, which stood outside Saints Peter and Paul Church in Williamsburg, was stolen Saturday night, a spokesperson said Thursday.
The statue was donated by a New Jersey couple to replace a Jesus statue that was stolen in 2012.
A surveillance camera captured the theft and the video shows a young woman lift the statue off its pedestal and run off with a man and another woman.
