Staten Island Volunteers Come to the Aid of Oklahoma Tornado Victims

On Saturday Staten Island volunteers loaded trucks filled with donated supplies for the tornado victims

Oklahoma volunteers lent a helping hand when Sandy battered our area, and now Staten Island residents are returning the favor.

On Saturday, volunteers loaded trucks full of donated supplies for victims of Monday's tornado in Moore, Okla.

The volunteers said they could empathize with victims of the tornado, which killed dozens of people and destroyed entire neighborhoods.

"We know what you're going through, we went through this with Sandy," said volunteer Dennis McKeon.

The donations, which include food and clothes, will be driven to Oklahoma and distributed at local hubs within the next few days.
