A Staten Island man has been arrested on charges he hired someone to kill a man he believed was having an affair with his wife.

Ramon Ramirez was held without bail after his arrest Thursday. No one was killed.

A second man, Vance Collins, also was charged in an indictment unsealed in Manhattan federal court with hiring a hit man in the plot.

The 48-year-old Ramirez was arrested in Staten Island, where he lived, and the 50-year-old Collins was arrested in the Bronx, where he lived.

Lawyers for the men did not return messages seeking comment.

The indictment said Collins and Ramirez hired an individual in late 2017.

Both men were charged with conspiracy and murder-for-hire. The charges carry a potential penalty of up to 20 years in prison.
