Significant Delays on LIRR Babylon Branch After Person Hit by Train

The LIRR resumed service through Sayville on Friday evening after a person was struck by a train, but riders heading out of the city should expect significant delays.

Service was suspended between the Babylon and Patchogue stations on the Babylon branch after a person was struck sometime before 3 p.m.

Service resumed on one of two tracks shortly after 4 p.m.

Extensive delays were reported on the branch, with a 2:29 p.m. eastbound train from Babylon running 80 minutes behind schedule.
