3 NJ Police Officers Pull Man From Burning Car Following Crash

Authorities say three police officers pulled a man from a burning car after he crashed into a utility pole in northern New Jersey.

Paramus police tell NJ.com that the accident happened around 12:10 a.m. Monday. After hitting the pole, the car rolled over and caught fire.

The Paramus officers — Gil Maynard, Anthony Mordaga and Timothy Reed — soon extinguished the fire. They then broke the car's side windows and pulled the driver, 28-year-old Andrew Ishak of Waldwick, out of the car.

Ishak was taken to a hospital, where he was being treated for "moderate injuries," including lacerations and abrasions.

No other vehicles were involved in the crash.

The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
