A western New York man has admitted to shooting and killing his 79-year-old mother with a shotgun.

Erie County prosecutors say 50-year-old Wayne Kozak of Eden pleaded guilty to manslaughter in the death of Mary Kozak in April 2017.

Kozak was arrested several hours later at an Erie, Pennsylvania, motel.

He faces up to 25 years in prison when he is sentenced Nov. 7.

Prosecutors have not publicly discussed a possible motive.
