A man was stabbed in the chest in Times Square Tuesday afternoon after a dispute with another man.
The victim, 45, was in serious but stable condition after he was stabbed near 46th Street and Seventh Avenue, which was bustling with people.
A law enforcement source said the two men knew each other. A suspect is in custody.
"When the gentleman was down on the floor, he kept saying, 'I don't think I'm going to make it, man,'" said a woman who witnessed the fight but did not want to give her name.
She said the victim had tried to use a folding chair to fend off the knife attack.
"You could clearly see that the guy was trying to defend himself with the chair," the witness said.
