Cohen Willing to Tell Mueller Trump Knew of Russia Meeting, Source Says

Michael Cohen, President Trump's former personal attorney, asserts Trump knew in advance about a meeting at Trump Tower in June 2016 between his son Donald Trump Jr. and a Russian lawyer, in contradiction to Trump Jr.'s congressional testimony in May 2017, a knowledgeable source told NBC News. The source told NBC News that Cohen is willing to inform Robert Mueller, the special counsel investigating alleged Russian interference in the 2016 presidential campaign, about his version of the timeline surrounding the meeting. Cohen's assertion was first reported by CNN. Lanny Davis, a lawyer for Cohen, said he had no comment. But Trump's attorney, former New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani, pushed back against that and dismissed the report, saying that Cohen was "not credible."

Remains Said to Be U.S. War Dead Repatriated From North Korea

North Korea returned the remains of what are believed to be U.S. servicemen killed during the Korean War, the White House said, with a U.S military plane making a rare trip into North Korea to retrieve 55 cases of remains. The handover follows through on a promise North Korean leader Kim Jong Un made to President Trump when the leaders met in June and is the first tangible result from the much-hyped summit. Trump welcomed the repatriation and thanked Kim in a tweet. The United Nations Command said 55 cases of remains were retrieved from North Korea. The White House earlier confirmed that a U.S. Air Force C-17 aircraft containing remains of fallen service members had departed Wonsan, a Northern coastal city, on its way to the Osan Air Base in Pyeongtaek, near the South Korean capital of Seoul. A formal repatriation ceremony will be held there. At the air base, U.S. servicemen and a military honor guard lined up on the tarmac to receive the remains, which were carried in boxes covered in blue U.N. flags.

1 Dead as California Wildfire Burns ‘Everything in Its Path’

An explosive wildfire tore through two small Northern California communities before reaching the city of Redding, killing a bulldozer operator on the fire lines, burning three firefighters, destroying dozens of homes and forcing thousands of terrified residents to flee. Flames swept through the communities of Shasta and Keswick before jumping the Sacramento River and reaching Redding, a city of about 92,000 people and the largest in the region. The so-called Carr Fire is "taking down everything in its path," said Scott McLean, a CalFire spokesman for the crews battling the blaze. Residents of western Redding who hadn't been under evacuation orders were caught off guard and had to flee with little notice, causing miles-long traffic jams as flames turned the skies orange.

Nearly 300 Confirmed Sick in Parasite Outbreak Linked to McDonald's Salads

The CDC is now reporting that nearly 300 people have been diagnosed with an intestinal illness after consuming salads at McDonald’s restaurants. In a new report, 286 laboratory-confirmed cases of cyclosporiasis have been reported in 15 states after customers ate salads at the restaurant’s locations. Over 200 cases have now been reported in Illinois and Iowa alone, with 123 cases confirmed in Illinois. The most common symptom of the illness is watery diarrhea. Other symptoms include appetite loss, intestinal pain, nausea, and fatigue. McDonald's released a statement regarding the outbreak, saying "McDonald's is committed to the highest standards of food safety and quality control." Earlier this summer, McDonald’s removed the lettuce blend from 3,000 identified restaurants and distribution centers that had received it.

New Mother Cardi B Pulls Out of Bruno Mars Tour

Cardi B will not be touring with Bruno Mars this fall. The rapper went on Instagram to announce she would no longer be joining Mars on the final leg of the 24k Magic tour in September as originally planned. "As of today I've decided I won't be joining Bruno on tour this fall. I thought that after giving birth to my daughter, that six weeks would be enough time for me to recover mentally and physically," she said. The new mom is upset about leaving the tour, but she said she hopes her fans "understand that this decision has been the hardest to make but I have to do what's best for myself and my baby!" Mars has since responded via his own Instagram, telling Cardi, "Most important thing is for you and your family's health. I know the fans will understand. You are absolutely doing the right thing."

The Truth About the Days Leading Up to Demi Lovato's Overdose

Just months into her recovery, Demi Lovato stumbled onto a hard truth. Initially, after exiting rehab in early 2011, she felt she held all the answers. Her three months in treatment had led her to believe it was her previously undiagnosed eating and bipolar disorders that were causing her problems. Sure, she had started drinking as a teen, buoyed by her sudden entry into the cool kids' club, and after trying cocaine at age 17 she had reached a point where she could barely go an hour without a hit. But substance abuse, she thought, wasn't really all that big of an issue for her.
