Man Asks Woman Outside Her Home If She Lives Alone, Cuts Her Neck: NYPD

A man approached a woman trying to get into her home in Queens, put a sharp object to her neck and asked her if she lived alone, then ran away when she screamed, police said. 

Police are searching for the suspect, who cut the 24-year-old woman's neck.

Police said the suspect approached the woman outside her home in the area of Hampton Street and Baxter Avenue just after 2:30 a.m. on Tuesday, July 28. She was taken to Elmhurst General Hospital in stable condition. 

The suspect is described as being in his 30s, about 5 feet 9 inches tall and 180 pounds.
