Police say a man was shot in the arm by a police officer in the Bronx Monday evening.
It's not clear what prompted the officer to shoot the man near East 145th Street and College Avenue at about 6 p.m.
The man was taken to the hospital in stable condition.
A gun was recovered from the scene.
Witnesses said police may have been responding to some sort of altercation that started at a basketball court in Patterson Playground.
Authorities were also investigating a deadly police-involved shooting in Brooklyn Monday night.
