A Westbury man was arrested and charged with DWI while having his two young daughters in the car, police said.
Pedro Huerta Garcia, 45, was driving erratically in his 2002 Ford Explorer on Hempstead Turnpike Sunday night.
Garcia passed the speed limit and couldn't stay in one lane, crossing over three lanes of traffic, police said.
Garcia had three passengers, two of whom were his daughters, ages 8 and 15, police said.
The children were given to their mother and the car was impounded at the scene, police said.
Garcia is charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated, endangering the welfare of a child and DWI.
He is said to be arraigned on Sunday at First District Court in Hempstead.
