Stranger Punches Man on Brooklyn Street in Bias Attack: NYPD

A man approached a stranger on a Brooklyn street corner, punched him in the back of the head and yelled racist statements in what police are calling a bias attack, authorities say.

The suspect went up to the 42-year-old victim standing on the corner of Berry Street and Division Avenue in Williamsburg just after 6:15 a.m. Wednesday, punched him in the back of the head and made anti-white remarks, according to police.

The victim fell to the ground and the suspect ran away and into the Roberto Clemente Housing Development across the street, police said.

The victim refused medical attention on the scene.

Anyone who recognizes the suspect pictured is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 800-577-TIPS.
