A 21-year-old Long Island man died Saturday after he fell off the trunk of a moving car in a parking lot, Suffolk County police said.
Rafael Acosta-Lemus, of Patchogue, struck his head on pavement and died after slipping off the trunk of his friend's Volkswagen four-door sedan in Farmingville. The accident happened at about 1:40 a.m. on Portion Road.
The car was being driven slowly to a different vehicle in the parking lot by a 20-year-old Brentwood man, investigators said.
A Farmingville Fire Department rescue squad took Acosta-Lemus to Stony Brook University Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
