Body Slumped Over Log Identified as 27-Year-Old Man, Police Say He Was Stabbed

A body found slumped over a log in a Long Island park over the weekend has been identified as a 27-year-old man, and police say he was stabbed multiple times.

Officials say the man found in Mill Pond Park Preserve in Wantagh is Marvin Antonio Fuentes Serrano, of Roosevelt

Homicide and crime scene investigators, some with dogs, were scouring the area for clues Monday. Police have been tight-lipped about the case.

The park is not known for crime.

Neighbor Ellen Lockwood, who was walking her dog through the park Monday, said the discovery made her nervous.

"I've lived here 50 years in the community, and I've never heard anything like it," she said.

Police are asking anyone with information about the death to contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS.
