1. Suspect Charged in Beating of Homeless Man in Lobby: Police

A man was beaten so badly in the lobby of a Brooklyn apartment building that his nose and eye socket were broken, police said.

Lytee Knox Hundley, 31, turned himself in Sunday and was charged with two counts of second-degree assault, the NYPD said.

The 62-year-old victim was in the lobby of a building on Tompkins Avenue in Bed-Stuy at about 6:30 p.m. Friday when the attacker approached him and started beating him, the NYPD said.

2. NFL Linebacker Punches Cop After Cab Fare Arrest: Prosecutor

An NFL linebacker attacked an NYPD sergeant after he was arrested for refusing to pay for a cab ride, prosecutors say.

Detroit Lions player Trevor Bates, 25, of Maine, allegedly refused to pay a $32 fare around 1:30 a.m. on Saturday after taking a yellow cab ride from Manhattan to his hotel in Queens, Queen’s District Attorney Richard Brown said in a statement.

Bates was arrested after his driver called the police, the DA’s office said.

3. NYPD Officers Save Toddler Who Wasn't Breathing: Police

A chance meeting with a patrol car may have saved one toddler's life.

Little Alexander Ramirez was being rushed to the hospital on Wednesday by his mother and grandmother because he had stopped breathing, the NYPD said. The 22-month-old was unconscious.

That's when they saw a patrol car at the intersection of 104th Street and Northern Boulevard in Queens. They pulled up and said they needed help.
