Newly released surveillance video shows a broad daylight shooting on a crowded Bronx street earlier this month when a man pulled out a gun and opened fire, sending frightened bystanders running and ducking for cover.
It was 12:30 p.m. Sunday, March 13 when a man in a red hoodie fired a gun in a dangerous shootout on Boston Road near East 173rd Street, according to witnesses. A second man, also with a gun, sneaked up on someone else, another angle of video shows.
Ibrahim Mahmoud was one of the people nearly caught in the line of fire. A bullet hole in the 99-cent store where he works shows just how close at least one of the bullets came.
"I was standing right here and see where the bullet went through," said Mahmoud.
Surveillance video even shows people getting out of a nearby car ducking for safety as bullets flew down the street.
No one was hurt, which Mahmoud called a miracle.
Police are asking anyone with information to contact them.
