New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio is going to Washington again.
Administration officials confirmed Monday that de Blasio, a Democrat, will be traveling to the capital on Friday to push his national political agenda.
He will be addressing a conference of business, labor leaders and other left-leaning executives to advocate a liberal economic policy.
The conference is sponsored by American Family Voices, a political action group that promotes liberal causes. De Blasio will also meet with federal officials and various state legislators.
He will then journey to Baltimore for a meeting of the United States of Conference of Mayors and remain there Saturday.
Some criticized de Blasio earlier this year for increasing his out-of-state travels at the expense of the day-to-day governance of the city.
The mayor has taken steps to grow his stature as a national liberal leader.
