Homeless Man Allegedly Kills Man After Responding to Craigslist Ad for Roommate

A 19-year-old homeless man allegedly killed a 66-year-old West Nyack man after answering the victim's ad for a roommate on Craigslist, authorities say.

Police in Clarkstown allege Dylan Lentini, who they say told authorities he had recently been staying at the Covenant House shelter in Manhattan, answered a Craigslist ad posted by Wimbert and made arrangements for Wimbert to pick him up at a train station in White Plains Friday.

On Tuesday, police responded to Wimbert's home on Demarest Avenue after getting a 911 call and found Wimbert with stab wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Lentini was spotted nearby, bleeding from a laceration on his right hand, according to Lohud.com.

Lentini was arrested and charged with second-degree murder. He is being held without bail, and information on an attorney for him wasn't immediately available.

Police say Lentini and Wimbert had never met before Lentini responded to the Craigslist ad.
