A mother of two young boys was shot and killed in front of her Brooklyn home and police say her ex-boyfriend is suspected in her death.

Gun shots rang out around 10:30 p.m. Sunday at St. Nicholas and Menahan streets in Bushwick. When police arrived on scene, they found 24-year-old Sade Sanchez with multiple gunshot wounds to her torso.

Sanchez, who was with her own mother at the time, was taken to an area hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Her ex, 26-year-old Gabriel Rivera of Queens, turned himself into police in Brooklyn on Monday morning, according to the NYPD. He's suspected of firing the shots that killed Sanchez.

He was later charged with murder and criminal possession of a weapon. Information on his attorney wasn't immediately clear.

A family friend of Sanchez's said she has two boys, ages 3 and 5, and that Rivera is their father.

"Deep down I think he’s really a good dude," Joseph Ayala said. "I just think that love hit him the wrong way."
