Attraction is, at its heart, a subjective notion -- but not according to the American Institute of Architects, who have identified some of the of the city's ugliest buildings.

Among the ten harsh reviews are not one, but two Trump buildings, a sky blue T.G.I. Friday's on Fifth Avenue, the Montefiore Apartments in the Bronx, and the home of one of the most well respected newspapers in the world, the New York Times building in Times Square.  The former Bear Stearns World Headquarters at 383 Madison Avenue is also on the list.  So too is the pricey Four Seasons Hotel on 57th Street.

The AIA was quick to point out that news publications that dubbed the reviews the "ten ugliest" were incorrect.  Emily Nemens told NBCNewYork that "At the American Institute of Architects New York Chapter, we are in the business of promoting design excellence. While we appreciate the dialogue on design that the Guide has sparked, the opinions quoted are the opinions of the authors."
