Volunteer Wrestling Coach Used Snapchat to Lure Teen Into Sex Acts: Police

A volunteer wrestling coach in New York was arrested after police say he used Snapchat and other social media to coerce a teenage boy into performing sex acts.

Marcus Stroud, 18, faces charges of committing a criminal sex act, sex abuse, sexual misconduct and child endangerment in connection with the alleged interactions he had with a boy late last year.

Stroud, of Nyack, allegedly used Snapchat and other social media networks to get to a child in a wrestling program in Clarkstown in December.

Authorities say they began investigating the case after the child’s parents found out and called police.

Stroud has been involved in wrestling programs in Rockland and Westchester counties in New York and Bergen County, New Jersey.

Stroud is being held in lieu of $100,000 bail and was set to return to court on Wednesday.

It wasn’t immediately clear if Stroud had an attorney who could comment on the charges.

Investigators say that Stroud may be connected to other victims and are asking anyone with information to call the Clarkstown Police Department’s tip line at 1-877-639-6233.
