An attacker randomly beat a woman after following her down the street, leaving her with a broken hip and a cut on her head, police said.

The 57-year-old woman was walking on Bowen Street, near Sobel Court Park on Staten Island, around 12:30 a.m. on Jan. 5 when a man she didn’t know started following her, the NYPD said.

The man then punched the woman several times and knocked her to the ground before fleeing the scene, according to police.

The woman was taken to Richmond University Medical Center, where she was treated for a broken hip and a laceration to her head, police said.

Police are now searching for a man who was last seen wearing a black winter jacket and blue jeans.
